The Edmonton Latvian Society IMANTA will host a Līgo celebration on Saturday, June 25 at OTS park (www.edmonton-ots.com). The address is 2104 – 156 Street SW and best access is via Anthony Henday Drive to Rabbit Hill Road overpass, then south on 156 Street. The last part of the drive is on a gravel road. Parking will be in front and to the left of the caretaker’s house as you enter the property – watch for signage. There is another larger parking lot to the right of the large hall which is being used by another group until early evening.  A parking attendant will be will be at that lot to direct entry.  Do not enter this way.

Activities will start at 3pm, dinner will be at 6pm, and we have use of the facility at least until 1am. The fire ban has been lifted and there will be a bonfire. Bring your old wreaths to burn. If you have other commitments that evening, please stop by anytime until late. If anyone plans to camp, (RV’s only – no tents) you must contact OTS directly.

There will be children’s activities, wreath-making, cheese-making and music. If enough people bring pīrāgi, there will be a pīragi contest. A donation of $5/person is suggested for dinner. Dessert is potluck.   We will not have access to extra dishes or kitchen facilities. Bring your own special drinks, extra lawn chairs, and remember the bug spray. Invite family and friends – everyone is welcome.

Happy Līgo – Priecīgus Jāņus!
