by Līgo is almost here! This year we will celebrate at Devon Lions Society Campground. There is a playground for children. Līgo event will start at 2pm with fun activities such as wreath making, games for children and adults (feel free to bring any outdoor toys to have fun with), cheese making, raffle, Latvian bacon bun contest (pīragu konkurss) so please bring your best. Supper is planned for 5 pm. Suggested donation of $5.00 per adult to help defray costs. Children 12 and under no charge.
Imanta will be providing pork, sauerkraut, rye bread, potato salad, other snacks, water, juice, coffee, tea. Desserts and other types of beverages will not be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own. Alcoholic beverages are allowed, but must be consumed within the confines of the shelter area. No alcoholic beverages are allowed on the playground, roadways or the public areas. Imanta will provide some flowers for wreaths, but more are always welcome.
Other things: bring lawn chairs, mosquito spray (they are crazy this season) and sunscreen. Please remember to drive safely. If you require more information please send us an email.
Gates close at 11pm so those who are not camping must leave the campground before 11pm. If you would like to camp, arrangements must be made with the Devon Lions Campground directly.
